Hosting Events
Would you like to host a tournament through the BBN? Fill out the form below to add your event to our calendar and get your event ranked on our UK leaderboard.
We recommend attending some tournaments first to get some judging experience before diving into hosting your own. If you're a store owner that already holds events, get in touch to discuss how we can incorporate them into our system.
We encourage freedom in shaping tournaments around your equipment, event space and format styles. Feel free to be creative, from hosting events in quirky stadiums or only using select parts. We will support, advertise and help where possible to grow your events. Please understand that ranked events (where points go towards the national leaderboard) will need to meet a certain criteria to maintain fairness.
In order to keep the leaderboard fair and balanced, we have divided the UK into various regions. Each region can play host to as many events as they like, however there will only be one ranked event allowed in each region, per month. This is subject to change with time and we will continue to adjust and add more regions. As well as balance, this also provides an opportunity for a larger, less casual event each month for people to practice for and look forward to.
In order to host a ranked tournament, the minimum required participant number is 16 for seniors and 10 for juniors (applies to individual tournaments).
We recommend having separate age divisions but we understand in a lot of cases this isn't possible. All participants aged 12 and under must be noted in mixed events so that they can be entered into their respective leaderboards. All participants are required to have a BBN account and username before competing.
Please ensure that the venue or location that you're using is sufficient for the number of participants you're expecting. We encourage events to be as open as possible but please keep within your capabilities based on time restraints, space, number of judges and stadiums available. Start small and build on it as you gain the required experience. Our staff are here to help and in a lot of cases will be able to attend and help guide you.
Where possible, events should be free to enter. Entry fees should only be in place to cover the cost of the venue and prizing.
The BBN will also be supplying a tournament pack which will include trophies, scoresheets, scoreboards, flip coins, tournament guide ect. These will be adjustable based on your needs but we hope to eventually keep the same level of quality across all BBN events.
We strongly recommend ticketed events if you're paying for a venue space. This helps eliminate last minute drop outs or no shows. We suggest using trusted sites like Eventbrite (free tickets are also available to keep track of predicted numbers), but please feel free to use whichever best suits your needs. If you would like help, we can run the tickets for your event.
